Slowly but surely, summer is winding down on Maryland and Delaware’s Eastern Shore. If you decided to buy an Ocean City condo earlier this year, be sure to catch up on our blog post from a few weeks back, which included tips on how to prepare your Ocean City condo for fall. After an action-packed season filled with trips to the farmers’ market and sunny days at the beach, there’s one more event to pencil into your calendar before it’s time to officially embrace fall. Sunfest is coming up this weekend, and we’ve created a quick preview to help you get the most out of one of Ocean City’s most popular festivals.
The festivities at the 39th Annual Sunfest kick off this Thursday, September 19th in the Inlet Lot at the South end of Ocean City’s famous Boardwalk. Beginning at 10:00am each day of the festival, you can check out live entertainment both indoors and outdoors. All entertainment is free, with the exception of the headlining acts. We hope you got your tickets to see The Beach Boys on Saturday!
Aside from the musical acts, Sunfest attendees will enjoy the unique talents of demonstrating artists. When you’re ready to take a break from the action, refuel at one (or two) of the available food vendors. Over 30 merchants will be on site to tempt your palate with the promise of festival favorites like gyros, pit beef, and more. For those who plan to travel to Ocean City by car for Sunfest, free parking will be available at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center and the Town’s Park & Ride location on Route 50. The Sunfest Express offers direct service for festival attendees and costs $3 for the entire day, or $1 per boarding.
Spending a day or two at Sunfest will be a great way to end your summer with a bang in Ocean City. Once you buy an Ocean City condo, attending Sunfest will become an annual tradition your friends and family will look forward to at the end of a fun-filled season. If you find yourself hesitant to leave Maryland and Delaware’s Eastern Shore for the next several months, visit us again this fall! You’ll be able to enjoy the same beautiful shoreline, delicious dining options and recreational opportunities without the summertime crowds. We hope to see you around!
